Koul Research
Foundation is committed to achieving lasting environmentally safe lives
for people. Though to begin with foundation has emphasized on
agricultural sustainability through safe crop protection
strategies based on science, technology, research and analysis
that could help in improving quality of food and living, its
future aims are directed towards wide range of agricultural
biotechnology on one hand and human health on the other. The
foundation is also committed to provide varied aspects of the
candidate activities mentioned above through global
publications in the form of journals, books, etc.
To begin with foundation has a registered Society of
Biopesticide Sciences and Insect Biopesticide Research Centre
(IBRC) duly recognized by the Department of Scientific and
Industrial Research, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt.
of India. IBRC is fully involved in the biopesticide research
and is running various research programmes on plant and
microbe based products.
The foundation
has started a new journal
“BIOPESTICIDES INTERNATIONAL” from
June 2005, which is
devoted to studies based on plants, microbial, fungal,
predator, parasitoid, and allied materials like bioherbicides
and entomopathogenic nematodes including diverse studies of
entomological, toxicological, agricultural, biochemical,
molecular and biotechnological aspects related to
biopesticides, including transgenics as pest control agents.
The journal also has a mandate to include the titles related to governance
of biopesticides to cover
issues that are in the realm of socio-political sciences, law
and legal instruments, ethics, environmental impacts, etc.
The Foundation has further plans to work with an emphasis on
agricultural and rural development and utilization of natural
resources for sustainable livelihoods. Foundation is also
going to work on various aspects of biotechnology for health
and environment safety.
